Equity For the Future - Scholarship Program

The Equity for the Future Scholarship is established through Alliance for Greater Equity,  a non-profit that helps advance equity and works to create a cohesive community where everyone has a sense of belonging. This scholarship will support students from the BIPOC  community who are pursuing post-secondary education. In supporting these students,  Alliance hopes to increase diversity among students entering post-secondary institutions and to promote equity in access to higher education.  

• Alliance for Greater Equity will award multiple, one-time, annual scholarships ranging from $500 to $2500 to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) students who are pursuing a post-secondary degree. 
• Scholarship recipients will be selected and notified by May 1, 2024 with distribution of the scholarship funds disbursed prior to the start of fall semester. 
• High School scholarship recipients will be asked to attend the Owatonna High School Awards Banquet on May 22, 2024 in acknowledgement of this scholarship. College aged award winners will be notified by phone and will set up a time with AGE Board Members to collect their certificates & scholarship checks 

•  Applications will be accepted starting March 1st and ending April 12th.
• Applicants must be accepted into any post-secondary program, including an Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's or Trade/Technical School.
• Applicants must be a graduate of a high school in Owatonna.
• Applicants must identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC).
• Applicants must submit a completed application. 

Deadline for submitting applications is April 12th!
