Alliance for Greater Equity was created when two similarly focused organizations came together to join forces and expand their individual impact.
Cultural Diversity Network was hard at work for over 20 years in Owatonna with a goal of enriching the community's cultural understanding through educational and celebratory events. This group hosted both Culturfest and Brewfest for many years, instilling a long tradition of openly celebrating diversity and different cultures.
Better Together started as a grassroots movement in 2019 as a way to bring our community together and examine collectively how we can build a more cohesive community where “others” are not only included but meaningfully engaged and feel like they can belong.
Now, as AGE, we hope to continue our traditions of celebrating diversity and providing educational opportunities, as well as create new paths forward where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive and live authentically in this community. Belonging, equity, unity, respect, and dignity aren’t just buzzwords for us. They are what drives the mission of AGE.
